This is a hot topic in my cong and many other congs here in the UK.
I was under the impression that beards were allowed over there, due to the comments of some online and some JWs. I also saw a video from on YouTube of a witnessing cart handler with a beard. Maybe um thinking of another European country that allows beards?

your skin! What questions should you consider if you are thinking aboutgrowing a beard?
And what Bible principles can help you make the best decision?
What are the health risks?Beards
breach the skin, which means that skin infections and other complications are possible,” says the website of the Mayo Clinic. “Sometimes bumps calledingrown hairs
form aroundfollicles."
Furthermore, the website notes: “If the equipment used togroom your beard
is contaminated with infected blood, you can contract various bloodborne diseases.”
How would it affect your reputation? Like it or not, your appearance sends a message. It identifies you as either adultlike or immature, as either trustworthy or irresponsible. “Whenever I see someone with abeard
I automatically put him in the drinking-and-partying category,” says a teenager named Samantha.
Melanie, 18, sees another aspect to it. “To me,” she says, “beards
hide your natural beauty. It’s as if those who wear them don’t want you to see who they really are, so they hide themselves underneathbeards.”
Will you always like it? Over time, weight gain or even simple aging can stretch and distort abeard.
“I’ve seen whatbeards
look like on a person decades later, and it’s not pretty,” says a young man named Joseph.“Facial hair styles
often become outdated,” says 21-year-old Allen. “What was once significant to the wearer might not be important just a few years later.”
Allen makes a good point. The fact is, as people age, their views change, their tastes change, and their affections change.
“Having got abeard
that only reminds me of foolish feelings is something I wouldn’t want to add to the list of things I regret years later,” says a young woman named Teresa.
A mature person takes time to weigh all factors before making a decision. (Proverbs 21:5; Hebrews 5:14) So consider the following Bible principles that have a bearing on the subject ofbeards.
Colossians 3:20: “You children, be obedient to your parents in everything, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.”
What consequences might you experience if you live at home with your parents but fail to respect their direction?
1 Peter 3:3, 4: “Do not let your adornment be external—the braiding of hair and the wearing of gold ornaments or fine clothing—but let it be the secret person of the heart in the incorruptible adornment of the quiet and mild spirit.”
Why, do you think, does the Bible put such emphasis on “the secret person of the heart”?
1 Timothy 2:9: “adorn themselves . . . with modesty and soundness of mind.”
What is the meaning of the word “modesty”? In the long term, why is modesty more attractive thana beard?
Romans 12:1: “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, a sacred service with your power of reason.”
Why does the way you treat your body matter to God?
In view of these factors, many people have decided againstgrowing a beard.
In fact, they have found something better thanbeards.

Ummm the People's Pulpit Association was a corporation formed in 1909 to facilitate the move to New York. The name was later changed to Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc.
I wasn't aware of a periodical by that name.

A Good Decade
by theliberator inif you were really into the organization back in the 80's, you have to admit, that it was the peak of the organization.
it was a time of high energy and excitement.
like any nation, it reaches a peak and then it declines.

Yes, I definitely agree that the 80's was the crescendo of a high for the org. The 90's really took a dip. The videos weren't of the same cinematic quality of the first few, but were made by television standards. The audio dramas went down the tubes drasticly. In the 80's we had the epic 'Egypt to the promised land' trilogy, with multilayered rich soundtracks, scores of skilled actors and full orchestra music, but the 90's dramas were basically cheaper than Disney channel shows with synthesized music, and cringe worthy acting. That decade also saw hardcover books replaced with softcover to save money, and many were made cheaper than they are today with a short life span and production defects. I'd say the next organizational high started in the late 2000's, and we're now cominh down from it starting last year.

A great suggestion from a current Bethelite on the chopping block
by Gilbeath Haaraloth ina very close friend of mine has gotten his letter.
although he was planning to leave willingly, he told me that he can't help but feel a sense of being stabbed in the back by a bunch of self righteous traitors.
he gave tours for years, always telling the visitors "this is the best way of life, i would never change anything here and i'll never regret making this decision to come here.

I think that what especially helped the elder anology was when DJS said that he was just trying to 'help' Gilbeath, but he 'needed to let him'. -

I'm good at finding articles and researching. Blogs? No thank you. Discussion Boards and Forums? Nope. There appears to *be* no confirmation. I have searched before, last year when I heard the rumour, and at first, thought this thread was News. I checked again this evening. But there's nothing to be found.
I have lots of time on my hands, so decided to do that. You're welcome.
google is your friend.I always Google before asking others. And by confirmation I don't mean a notorized slip or the front page of a major newspaper, I mean just anyone else online who happens to be saying the same thing. (excluding the people I found on another forum who were merely theorizing).
